Biographie

A skeet shooter, Matt Dryke competed at three Olympics (1984-92), highlighted by his 1984 gold medal. Dryke shot with the US Army Marksmanship Unit from 1978-87. He was a two-time World Champion, winning in 1983 and 1986, and a nine-time US Champion. At the Pan American Games Dryke won gold medals in 1983 and 1987 and a silver medal in 1979. He was gold medalist at the Championships of the Americas in 1981 and 1985.

Dryke learned shooting at his father’s range, the Sunnydell Shooting Grounds. Chuck Dryke started it as a place to train hunting dogs but later converted it to a trap, skeet, and shooting clays range. As a child, Matt used to show off by shooting targets while riding a unicycle. Dryke took over from his father running the range, where he also gives private lessons.
