Biographie

Lucinda Green, with Virginia Holgate-Leng made up Britain's greatest ever female eventing tandem. Green’s only Olympic medal came in 1984 when she helped the British team to a silver medal. However, in 1982, she won the world individual three-day title and also earned a World Championship as a member of the victorious British team. This followed individual titles at the European Championships in 1975 and 1977. Green has also won the Badminton Horse Trials Championships a record six times – 1973, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1983, and 1984 (the first four under her maiden name of Prior-Palmer); and the Burghley Horse Trials twice (1977, 1981). Educated at St. Mary's, for her many victories she was awarded an MBE in 1978. She retired after the 1987 World Championships, and later became a commentator for the BBC at major riding events and conducts horse clinics world-wide.
