Biographie

Leroy Brown, from Dartmouth, won the AAU indoor high jump in 1922, the outdoor in 1923, and the IC4A indoor and outdoor in 1922 and 1923. His winning mark of 6-5¾ (1.97) at the 1923 AAU outdoor was the best performance in the world that year. Earlier in the season he had tied for first place with Dick Landon, the 1920 Olympic champion, at the Millrose Games when both set a world indoor record of 6-5¼ (1.96). At the 1924 Olympics, Brown came close to repeating his 1923 form, but did not seriously threaten the winner, Harold Osborn.

Personal Best: HJ – 1.994 (1924).
