Ken Doubleday competed at the 1952 and 1956 Olympics and the 1950 and 1954 British Empire Games. His only finals at those major internationals came in 1952 at Helsinki, when he placed fifth in the 110 hurdles, and in 1954 at Vancouver in the 120 yard high hurdles, when he fell and did not finish. Doubleday won eight national championships - the high hurdles in 1954-56, 220 yard hurdles in 1953-54, 440 hurdles in 1951 and 1953, and one in the triple jump in 1947.
