Biographie

Julie Ovenhouse was a springboard diver who competed in college at Michigan State, where she was a six-time All-American and won four Big 10 titles. Ovenhouse won the 1-metre springboard at the Big 10 meet in 1989-91, and added the 3-metre springboard in 1991. In 1990 she was NCAA Champion on the 1-metre, and won the 3-metre in 1991. Ovenhouse was named All-American on both boards for three consecutive years, 1989-91, and in 1990 was named NCAA Diver of the Year, when she was also named Michigan State Sportswoman of the Year. Ovenhouse was named an Academic All-American in 1989-91, and in 1991 was named the Big 10 Jesse Owens Athlete of the Year.

Internationally Ovenhouse competed at the 1991 World Aquatics Championship on both 1- and 3-metre springboards. She then competed on the 3-metre springboard at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Ovenhouse was inducted into both the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame and the Michigan State Sports Hall of Fame.
