Biographie

Julie Brown was an American distance runner known for having a very wide range, competing internationally at distances from 800 metres to the marathon. Brown ran for Cal State Northridge, UCLA, and the Reebok Racing Club. She won 10 US Championships between 1974-82, on the track, indoors, in the marathon, and in cross-country. In the old AIAW, she won four titles, the 800 and 3,000 in 1977, and the mile and 2 miles in 1975. She ran for the United States four times at the International Cross-Country, winning the championship in 1975. In 1979 Brown won three silver medals at the Pan-American Games, in the 800, 1,500, and 3,000 metres. She set a women's world record in the 10K in 1975.
