Biographie

Johnny Hines was runner-up at the 1932 AAU Championships which qualified him for the US Olympic team. At the Olympics he won his first match but then lost in the quarter-finals to Sweden’s Allan Carlsson. Hines turned professional after the Olympics, fighting frequently from 1933-35, with all his bouts in California. He ended with a career record of 22 wins, 8 losses, and 4 draws. Hines never fought for a major title.
