Biographie

Jenő von Zsigmondy played singles and doubles tennis at both the 1908 and 1912 Olympics. Von Zsigmondy was Hungarian singles champion in 1907, 1910, and 1911. He was mixed doubles champion with Katalin Cséry six times. In 1914 von Zsigmondy and Béla von Kehrling reached the semi-finals of the World Hard Court Championships in doubles. Shortly after that von Zsigmondy stopped playing tennis because of health issues, and became a top golfer. He won two titles at the 1929 Wiener Golf Club championships and in 1935 a Zsigmondy Jenő Memorial Golf Tournament was held in his honor.

Von Zsigmondy studied law and became a lawyer. He came from a family of high achievement. His father was a member of the Hungarian Parliament 1927-32, while a cousin, Richard Adolf Zsigmondy, won the 1926 Nobel Prize for Chemistry.
