Biographie

In his long career as a marksman, Jean-Luc Tricoire collected no less than 46 French titles, competing well into his fifties. His top years came in the 1980s. In 1983, he won the running target (10 m) world title, also claiming silver with the French team. In 1986, he won another silver medal, placing second in the 50 m running target competition. Tricoire competed in three Olympics (1984, 1988, 1992), but never made it to the final. He did win one European title, in 1987. His last major international competition were the 2002 Europeans in Bordeaux, after which he mostly competed for fun. A welder by trade, Tricoire suffered liver problems and he died aged 57 while waiting for a transplant.
