Biographie

Janeene Vickers was a 400 metre hurdler who won a bronze medal in the event at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. She also won bronze at the 1991 World Championships, in her personal best time of 53.47. She also finished second at the 1991 Grand Prix Final. A standout high school runner, Vickers was the 1987 Track & Field News high school athlete of the year. She ran in college at UCLA, where she won the NCAA title for three straight years – 1989-91, which made her the first woman to do that in the 400 hurdles. In 2011 Vickers (by then Vickers-McKinney) was inducted into the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame.
