Biographie

Imre Nagy twice competed at the Olympics in modern pentathlon, winning a team gold and an individual silver in 1960, and a team bronze in 1964. Nagy also won three silver medals at the World Championships in the team event – 1958 and 1961-62. Nagy was an economist as a career, graduated from the University of Budapest. After his sports career ended, he helped form a Hungarian-Korean joint venture, which he led until his retirement. He was a board member of the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM), becoming secretary-general in 1988. Nagy also coached the Hungarian national team from 1970-76, including as coach of the team at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics.
