Biographie

Herbert Wiesinger was a pairs figure skater from Frankfurt on Main. He partnered with Marianne Streifler at international competitions and finished 11th at the 1967 World Championships, and 12th in 1968. At the 1967 Europeans they finished 11th, were ninth in 1968, and sixth in 1969. At the 1968 Grenoble Winter Games they were placed 11th. At the West German Championships, the pair won silver in 1967 and 1969, and bronze in 1968.

Wiesinger then changed his partner, and teamed up with Almut Lehmann. He enjoyed far more success with his new partner and were sixth at the 1970 Worlds, fifth in 1971 and 1972, and fourth in 1973. After finishing fifth at the 1970 and 1971 Europeans, and fourth in 1972, Wiesinger eventually won his first major international medal when taking bronze in 1973. At the 1972 Sapporo Winter Games they were placed in fifth. From 1971-73 they won the West German national title three times. Wiesinger later became Skating Director at the Alpharetta Family Skate Center in the United States.
