Biographie

Hans Kleppen had the unlucky fate to fall in both his ski jumps in his only Olympic appearance in 1928 at St. Moritz. He was also selected for the 1932 team in Lake Placid and went to the US, but only as a substitute in ski jumping. His best international achievement was a bronze medal at the 1929 World Championships, and he also had a good season in 1934, winning the national championships and placing third at Holmenkollen. Kleppen lived in his home village of Bø in Telemark his whole life, making his living as a taxi driver and also teaching people to drive cars. When he died in 2009 at the age of 102, he had been the oldest living Norwegian Olympian for several years.
