Ernest Tippin shot rapid-fire pistol at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. Tippin graduated from Cooper College in Sterling, Kansas in 1919. He became a physician, specializing in eye, ear, nose, and throat surgery. Tippin was a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, and a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmologic and Otolaryngologic Allergy. Tippin served in SATC (Student Army Training Corps) at the University of Chicago from January 1918 to December 1930.
