Einar Landvik came from the traditional ski county Telemark, and competed for the first time in Holmenkollen at the age of 18, placing third in the junior class. His best placing as a senior was 3rd in both 1920 and 1925. In 1926, his last competitive season, he won the bronze medal in Nordic Combined at the World Championship in Lahti, Finland. Landvik was known for his peculiar jumping style, his skis pointing down during his jumps.
