Biographie

David Poisson was a French Alpine skier who specialized in speed events. Poisson competed at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics in downhill and Super-G. His biggest international achievement was winning a silver medal in downhill at the 2013 World Championships, followed by bronze in that event in 2015. He started skiing on the World Cup circuit in 2008 and recorded 11 top 10 finishes in the downhill, with a best of third at Santa Caterina in December 2015. He finished in the World Cup top 10 for the season six times in downhill, with a best of fourth in 2016, and twice in Super-G. In 2016 he also finished ninth in the overall season World Cup.

In November 2017 Poisson was training for a World Cup on the Nakiska course at Calgary when he crashed. He subsequently died from the injuries he suffered.
