Biographie

Cynthia Goyette swam for Wayne State University and the Golden Lions Swim Club. She won five AAU indoor titles, the 100 yard breaststroke in 1963 and 1964, and from 1964-66 winning the 250 yard (1964) and 200 yard breaststroke. She also won four national intercollegiate breaststroke titles. Goyette also set three American short-course records in the 200 yard breaststroke, one in 1964 and two in 1966. At the 1964 Olympics she helped the US set a world record in the 4x100 medley relay. Goyette ended her career after the 1967 Universiade, where she won both breaststroke events and swam a leg on the winning medley relay team.

Goyet graduated from Wayne State in 1973 with a degree in textile and fashion merchandising. She worked as a buyer for clothing stores for several years but then became an account executive with radio stations in Michigan.
