Biographie

Arthur McCabe was a fly-half who was chosen for the Wallabies squad that toured the British Isles and France in 1908-09. He played in the 1908 London Olympic, helping Australia win the gold medal. He played in 12 of the 38 matches on the tour, scoring 16 tries. On return to Australia, McCabe turned to professional rugby league, as did several of his teammates. He played for South Sydney Rabbitohs from 1910-14 but never succeeded in becoming a dual-code rugby international, although he played professionally in matches for New South Wales. McCabe died of a heart attack at only 36 years of age.
