Biographie

Alf Konningen was one of the pioneers of alpine skiing in Norway. In 1934 he won the first ever downhill competition in his hometown of Kongsberg. He went to mid-Europe in 1935, competing in Germany and France to gain experience. After competing in the 1936 Olympics at age 34, he continued his work promoting alpine skiing, also winning a bronze medal in alpine combination at the first ever Norwegian Alpine Championships in 1938. He worked as a lathe operator in Kongsberg until his retirement.
