Biographie

Playing for the dominant Club Nautique de Bruxelles which won the Belgian title 1934-1949, Albert Casteleyns was also a member of the Belgian national team that captured bronze medals at the 1934 European Championships in Magdeburg and the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. After World War II, he was active in bobsleigh as a brakeman for Marcel Leclef. At the 1952 Winter Olympics, they managed a good result, finishing in sixth place. Their exploits in the four-man event were less successful as the Belgian team had to withdraw due to crashes in both 1952 and 1956.
