Biografía

Vladimír Novák started competing in 1924. He won the 1927 national trials in the 30 km race, which earned him his first of three nominations for the Winter Olympics. Over three Olympic Winter Games (1928, 1932, 1936) Novák had four top–20 finishes, with a best of 11th over the 50 km in 1932. In the following years, he was three times Czechoslovakian champion and World Students’ champion. His major international achievement was the silver medal at the 1933 World Championships with the Czechoslovakian 4x10 km relay team. He worked as an architect and town planner in Prague.
