Biografía

Violet Webb went to Los Angeles to compete in the 80 m hurdles, in which she set five British national records during her career. But due to an injury to Ethel Johnson she also ran as a substitute in the 4x100 relay, winning the bronze medal with her teammates Eileen Hiscock, Gwen Porter and Nellie Halstead. Two years later she won a bronze medal for England in the long jump at the 1934 British Empire Games in London and another bronze medal in the 80 metre hurdles at the 1934 Women’s World Games. She worked as a saleswoman. In 1937 she married and finished her athletic career at only 21-years-old.

Personal Best: 80H – 11.7 (1936).
