Biografía

Valentina Dimitrova was a multi-event athlete. She won the 1977 World Universiade in the pentathlon in Sofia. She later placed sixth at the 1982 European Championships, fifth at the 1983 World Championships, and was seventh at Moskva in 1980 in the pentathlon. She set six Bulgarian records in the pentathlon and four in the heptathlon, setting her career best of 6,453 in the heptathlon at Götzis in 1983. Dimitrova ended her athletic career in 1984 because of injuries. She later stayed in the sport as a teacher and coach.
