Biografía

Roland Bock lost his first three bouts in the Greco-Roman heavyweight class at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, and was eliminated from the competition. Two years later, he had his greatest moment, winning the European Championships in this class. In 1966, Bock had unfortunately finished fourth in Essen. He won four West German national titles from 1968-72, and added five second places 1966-71, and a third in 1968.

Bock then turned professional, and wrestled until 1982, winning six world titles in Europe, North America and Japan. During his sporting career, he started working as a hotel manager and actor. In 1983, he opened the so-called Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg, where legendary rock bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Nazareth, Mötley Crüe, Queen, Scorpions, InExtremo and others, performed live. Bock was later removed by his former business partners and lived in a small flat from a small pension.
