Biografía

Bobby Thomas grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin where he became the best cyclist in the region. In 1927 he won the Junior National Road Race at Philadelphia, and then in 1930, in his hometown, won the Senior title, while his brother, George “Corks” Thomas, won the Junior Nationals. In 1932 Bobby Thomas placed third in the US Olympic Trials semi-final test in Chicago, but did not make the US road team for the Los Angeles Olympics. He had little track experience but won the US trials in the match sprint and competed in that event at the Olympics. Thomas turned pro shortly after the 1932 Olympics and competed in numerous six-day races. He and his wife settled in Phoenix, moving there in 1959.
