Biografía

Robert Dorgebray just missed out on an individual medal when he tied for fourth place in the mass sprint in the road race of the 1936 Olympics. But as two of his team mates finished first and second, he did earn a gold medal in the team event. Dorgebray turned professional in 1942, having finished third in the French amateur championships of 1939. His most notable pro victory came in 1947, when he won the semi-classic Paris-Camembert. A competitor in three Tour de France races, Dorgebray never made it to Paris. Besides road racing, he was also active in cyclo-cross, coming second in the 1943 French Championships.
