Perri Williams went to school locally, and then trained as a chartered accountant and worked in TV production companies before gradually going down the path of IT. She started out as a runner in school, although she competed in many sports, running distances before turning to race walking, representing St. Senan’s Athletic Club. After the 1992 Olympics Williams competed at the 1993 World Athletics Championships. She won a UK walking title in 1994, a South of England title in 1995, and also an inter-counties title in England in 1995, in addition to numerous Irish walking titles at senior level both on the track and road, as well as senior indoor walking titles. She lectures in IT at Waterford Institute of Technology and Clane College in County Kildare, in addition to coaching at St. Senan’s AC. All three of her sisters (Clodagh, Kayrn, Edna) competed for Ireland in athletics at the juvenile level in the Celtic Internationals.
