Biografía

Paul Winter came from the Alsace region and first started for clubs from Colmar and Strasbourg before he went to Paris wearing the colors of Individuel Paris and CA Français. In 1927 he met [Jules Noël] with whom he became friends. He competed at the Los Angeles Olympics, winning the discus bronze medal. In 1934 Winter won the silver medal at the first European Championships. At the 1936 Olympics he once again took part in the discus throw, but failed to qualify, although he won the silver medal at the 1934 European Championships. Winter won four French Championships, in 1931, 1933, 1935 and 1937. The last of his three French records from 1932 was not improved until 1957.

Personal Bests: SP – 14.10 (1930); DT – 50.71 (1932).
