Palle Lykke Jensen was third in the Danish amateur pursuit championship in 1956, and then placed fourth in the World Amateur Road Race, before competing at the Melbourne Olympics, where he did not finish. Jensen was the Danish professional sprint champion for four consecutive years (1958-61), and won the 1965 Championnat des Flandres. He primarily was known as a six-day racer, winning 21 races from 1958-68, with four victories in 1967, three in 1959 and 1963, and two in 1958, 1960, and 1965. He won in multiple cities, countries, and continents, with three titles in Frankfurt and Montréal, two in Århus, Berlin, Münster, and Zürich, and one each in Amsterdam, Antwerpen, Brême, Bruxelles, København, Dortmund, and London. He married the daughter of Belgian cyclist Rik van Steenbergen and lived in Belgium since 1962. He worked as a supplier for ships in the Antwerp harbor.
