Biografía

Jukka Ylipulli’s best season was probably his first international season, 1984, when he won an individual bronze at the Olympic Winter Games and a silver at the World Championships in the team event. In 1985, Ylipulli won a bronze in the team event and was 11th in the individual event. That would remain Ylipulli’s last international tournament medal, although he also competed at the 1987, 1989 and 1991 World Championships and 1988 Winter Olympics. After finishing his competitive career in 1991, Ylipulli worked as a Nordic combined coach. He was the coach of the Finnish Junior Nordic combined team from 1991-96 and 2002-04. From 1993-96 he worked as the coach of the Finnish Nordic combined team and from 2001-02 was the coach of the United States Nordic combined team. In 2004 Ylipulli was again named the coach of Finnish Nordic combined team. His younger brothers Tuomo and Raimo also competed at the Winter Olympics in ski jumping and Tuomo won a gold medal at the 1988 Olympics in the team event.
