Biografía

José Luis Sánchez was a sprinter who competed in three Olympic Games (1968, 1972, 1976) for Spain. He was capped 72 times for Spain. Sánchez was a 12-time Spanish sprint champion, winning the 100 metres in 1963-66, 1971-73, and 1979; and the 200 metres in 1962 and 1964-66. He also set over 40 Spanish records during his career, all in the sprints. Sánchez worked as a teacher, and was honored with a statue in the Multiusos de Salamanca in 2002.
