Biografía

Despite being born in Anchorage, Alaska, Jeff Pain has been a competitor for Canada since taking up skeleton in 1995 and considers Calgary, Alberta his hometown. He first ventured into the sport at a time when it was not part of the official Olympic program and was forced to fund much of his competitive career out of his own pocket. Over the course of more than 15 years he has acquired almost 20 World Cup podium finishes, two men's Skeleton World Cup overall titles (2004-5 and 2005-6), three medals at the World Championships (silver in 2001, gold in 2003 and 2005) and one Olympic silver at the 2006 Winter Games. He also competed in 2002, the first year that skeleton had been an official event at the Olympics since 1948, and 2010, where his performance was hampered by an injured muscle. He possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of British Columbia and owns "Designscapes", a landscape designing and building company. His signature painted helmet portrays an angry beaver known as the "Raging Beaver".
