Biografía

Jacques Mouvet, a stockbroker by trade, was the brakesman of Max Houben in the post-war years. Together, they won a silver and a bronze medal at the 1947 World Championships in St. Moritz. One year later at the Olympics, held on the same course, they placed fourth in the two-man event and won a silver medal. One year later, Houben and Mouvet were among the favourites for the world title in Lake Placid. During a practice run, they slid off the track and smashed into an upright. Mouvet broke his skull and sustained a serious back injury, but survived. Max Houben was killed instantly.
