Biografía

After winning the high hurdles at the 1963 Pan American Games, Blaine Lindgren remained a top class hurdler for two more seasons although he never won another major title. He was often thwarted in his quest for championship honors by the great Hayes Jones, who beat Lindgren by inches in the 1964 AAU and at the Olympics. Lindgren is a graduate of the University of Utah and briefly worked for the sheriff's department in his hometown in that state. He later entered the banking industry in Salt Lake City, working for First Security Bank and then Zions Bank, retiring from that profession in 2006. He then settled in Salem, Utah.

Lindgren refereed high school and college football for over 35 years. He served as a member or board member of several local and national sports committees and organizations, including the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Foundation. He was inducted into the Cyprus High School, and West Valley City Halls of Fame (1990), the Utah Summer Games (1991), the University of Utah Crimson Club (1986), the Utah Sports Hall of Fame (1972) and the National High School Hall of Fame (2006).

Personal Best: 110H – 13.5y (1963).
