Biografía

Rick Chaffee skied for the US for six years on the World Cup circuit. During that time he had three podium finishes in World Cup events, all in the slalom, and 23 top tens, all in the technical events. In March 1970 he placed second at a World Cup slalom in Heavenly Valley, California, his best finish ever, after two third places in 1968. As a student at the University of Denver, Chaffee won NCAA slalom titles in 1965 and 1967. He came from a prominent skiing family. His sister, Suzy Chaffee, skied for the US at the 1968 Winter Olympics. His cousin, Jon Chaffee, competed in biathlon at the Olympics, and he and his brother, Kim Chaffee, both skied for Harvard.
