Biografía

Fred Allen competed for U Cal Berkeley as a long jumper. He was the Western Olympic Trial champion in the long jump in 1912. Allen later became a psychiatrist, specializing in child psychiatry, and was one of the pioneers in that field. He trained at Johns Hopkins under Adolf Meyer. Allen practiced at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic and wrote one of the first textbooks in the field, Psychotherapy in Children.
