Biografía

Ernst Good’s alpine skiing career was brief, but punctuated with success. He followed his top-10 World Cup début of a ninth-place finish in the giant slalom by quickly moving up to fifth in a subsequent event, and then earned a trip to the 1976 Winter Olympics by coming in second less than two weeks later. At the Games, poor runs by favorites Ingemar Stenmark of Sweden and Gustavo Thoeni of Italy allowed Good and his compatriot Heini Hemmi to nab the silver and gold medals respectively. Good and Hemmi also competed in the slalom, but neither completed the event. Good had two more third-place finishes in the giant slalom at the World Cup prior to retiring from active competition in 1977. His best seasonal World Cup finish was fifth in the 1975/76 giant slalom. His sister Rita competed in alpine skiing at the 1972 Winter Olympics.
