Biografía

Ed Eyestone ran the marathon at both the 1988 and 1992 Olympics. Eyestone was a distance runner who attended Brigham Young University, later earning a masters’ degree in exercise science from the school. While in college he won NCAA titles at 5,000 m, 10,000 m, and cross-country. After college Eyestone mainly did road running, although he helped the US team to four consecutive team medals (1983-86) at the International Cross-Country Championships, winning silver in 1983-84 and bronzes in 1985-86. On the roads his two biggest wins were the 1986 Bay-to-Breakers in the Bay Area of San Francisco, and the 1991 Peachtree Road Race.

Eyestone later became a coach, first as an assistant at Weber State University and later as the cross-country coach at Brigham Young. He also worked as a columnist for Runner’s World magazine did some television work for ESPN and NBC.
