Biografía

After winning the IC4A 440y in 1910, Reidpath missed the 1911 meet through injury, but he came back in 1912 to score a notable double with a 21.4 220y (straight) and a 48.0 440y which placed him second on the world all-time list. Charles Reidpath was still in top form at the Olympics and, after running the fastest 400m semi-final (48.7), he took the gold medal with a new Olympic record of 48.2. He later ran the anchor leg on the relay team which set a new world record of 3:16.6. At Syracuse, Reidpath was on the football and track teams for three years and after graduation he entered the building trade. Apart from the years 1941 to 1946, when he was serving with the engineers corps in Europe, Charles Reidpath was the director of buildings for the city of Buffalo from 1937 until 1954.
