Biografía

Anne Briand-Bouthiaux won three Olympic biathlon medals, highlighted by the gold in the relay at Albertville in 1992. She was also a seven-time medalist at the World Championships, winning golds in the team event in 1993 and in the 10 km in 1995. To this she added five silvers, three in the relay (1993, 1995-96) and two in the team event (1995-96). At the World Cup, Briand-Bouthiaux was overall champion for the 1994-95 season. She had 12 podiums in World Cup events, including six victories with three silvers and three bronzes.

During her ski career Briand-Bouthiaux continued to study veterinary medicine at l'École nationale vétérinaire de Lyon, graduating in 1993. She later obtained a degree in nutrition in 1997. Beginning in 1999, she worked as a Research Officer at the National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA) in Grignon.
