Biografía

Alexander Munro moved from Scotland to join the Metropolitan Police, and first lived in a police section house in Westminster. He was later assigned to the Bow police (K Division), and was stationed at Plaistow where he pulled for the Plaistow Sub-Division Metropolitan Police tug-of-war team which included several future fellow Olympians. Munro was also a member of the K Division tug-of-war team, which took part in many sports events around the country, and was in the team that won the bronze medal at the 1908 Olympics. He won a silver at the 1912 Stockholm Games and in 1913 helped the London City Police win the national British police title. He resigned from the police force in July 1916
