A wealth of heritage and multiculturalism
Beyond the city centre of Strasbourg, the 33 municipalities in the Eurométropole conurbation are bursting with remarkable gems of heritage, abundant nature, local traditions and thrilling cultural attractions. As the seat of the European institutions and at the crossroads of Europe, Strasbourg and its metropolitan area are profoundly multicultural. The values of peace and democracy are the driving force behind living together and the quality of life in the area.
Sport is in the area’s DNA
The city and metropolitan area of Strasbourg have been committed for a long time to ensuring access for people with disabilities regarding participation in sports and leisure activities. They run awareness-raising campaigns in partnership with local clubs on days dedicated to para-sport, such as blind football, para-fencing and wheelchair tennis, as well as workshops on board sport skills. They also support Jules Ribstein, a para-triathlete from Alsace, in his preparation for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
