An attractive and student city

Rouen is the capital of Normandy and its rich history can be seen throughout the city thanks to the remarkable heritage of its buildings, such as the cathedral, the Gros-Horloge clock or the Saint Maclou ossuary. Rouen is a very dynamic city: an academic one, whose several campuses welcome 45,000 students, and a cultural one, with 12 museums, including the fine arts museum as well as several venues dedicated to creating and promoting culture. It has been selected as one of 4 cities competing to become the European Capital of Culture in 2028 and is also aiming to develop tourism. Finally, with the Active and Sporting City label awarded on 24th August 2023, it promotes sports via its 39 sports facilities.

Disabilities and sport in harmony

The city of Rouen’s ambition is to develop a genuine sporting dynamic by supporting people with disabilities in practising sports such as sledge hockey, para-tennis, para-triathlon, adapted baseball, etc., but also by supporting and encouraging initiatives conducted by associations aimed at people with disabilities such as the ‘Cap sur l’Handi’ disability day organised by ASPTT Rouen. At the same time, the town is continuing to improve access to its sports facilities, in particular its sports halls, swimming pool and skating rink.
