SUSTAINABILITY AND LEGACY REPORT

After the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 2021, it’s time for Paris 2024 to join the party with a unique mission: an Olympic and Paralympic Games in tune with society and its realities. The XXXIII Olympiad of the modern era will be one of renewal, with Games that are open to all.

To achieve this, the Paris 2024 Organising Committee has been working closely with its ecosystem and sponsors since 2017. As the Games quickly approach, take a look back at the first achievements of the project and those to come.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be ambitious and spectacular with a focus on economic, social and environmental responsibility. Faced with the societal challenges of the 21st century, Paris 2024 has put the key issues of legacy and sustainability at the heart of its project since the bid phase to inspire new standards. These Games will implement the principles of circular economy and provide economic opportunities for local communities, while also aiming to halve its carbon footprint compared to previous Games.

Paris 2024 offers a new organizational model on how to create a Games that is open to all, leaving a lasting mark on our society and providing the people of France with greater opportunities to be involved in sport than ever before. For this strategy to be successful and last beyond 2024, Paris 2024 does not act alone. It is by bringing together all of those involved in the Games that lasting change is possible; members of the sports movement and those that make up the economic fabric of France, NGOs, public institutions and local authorities contribute daily to building a post-Games legacy of Paris 2024.
