USA Basketball at Paris 2024 Olympics: Complete schedule and tournament format
The United States men’s and women’s basketball teams head to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with one unified goal: to win Olympic gold.
For the women’s team, victory in France could mark an eighth consecutive Olympic win, while gold in Paris would mean a fifth consecutive triumph and 17th Olympic title for the men.
Following the Draw Ceremony conducted on 19 March, the groupings for the tournament slated to take place from 27 July to 10 August are now known, including which teams the US teams will meet first.
The women of Team USA have been drawn in Group C along with Germany, Japan and Belgium.
While the men face an opener against Nikola Jokic’s Serbia before then meeting South Sudan and the winner of an Olympic Qualifying Tournament still yet to take place/
The group phase will be held at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, with the tournament's final phase set to be held at the Bercy Arena in the heart of Paris.
Olympic Basketball Tournaments Paris 2024: Format
For both events, 12 teams have been divided into three groups of four teams and play will begin with a single round-robin format.
The two top-finishing teams from each group, and the two best third-placed teams, will then proceed to the quarterfinals.
The matchups for the quarters will be determined based on a draw depending on the preliminary round results.
Teams will be seeded into four pots and will be drawn such that the top-ranked teams face the lowest-ranked teams. Those that were in the same group cannot play each other again.
After the quarterfinals, follow the semifinals and, thereafter, the gold medal match. A bronze medal match will precede the Olympic title decider/

Paris 2024 Olympic Games: USA Basketball men’s schedule
The United States men’s team will start their tournament in Group C.
They will open their Olympic title defence against World Cup runners-up Serbia on 28 July before taking on tournament newcomers South Sudan on 31 July.
The final group game will be against the winner of the Puerto Rico Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which will take place 2-7 July.

Paris 2024 Olympic Games: USA Basketball women’s schedule
The United States women’s team will start their tournament in Group C.
They will open their Olympic campaign against Tokyo 2020 silver medallists Japan on 29 July before taking on Belgium on 1 August and then Germany on 4 August.
