The global entertainment icon will provide regular reports as a "Special Correspondent" in Paris for the Olympic Primetime Show on NBC and Peacock in the USA.

Snoop Dogg is joining NBCUniversal's coverage team for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The American rapper and film star will be on site in the French capital to provide regular reports as a "Special Correspondent" from the Games, taking place from 26 July 2024.

The announcement was made during the halftime of Sunday Night Football's NFL coverage of the Green Bay Packers' win Minnesota Vikings on 1 January 2024.

This is, however, not Snoop's first foray into the Olympic world, having provided several viral commentary highlights from the dressage competition during the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 in 2021.

“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris. It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness,” Snoop Dogg said in a press release.

“We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix. It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?”

Viewers of Sunday Night Football got a taste of Snoop's unique take on sports during a “Snoop Year’s Eve” promotional video for the Paris Olympics.

The rapper joked with Team USA athletes Suni Lee (gymnastics), A’ja Wilson (basketball), Jagger Eaton (skateboarder), and duo Kelly Cheng and Sara Hughes (beach volleyball) about their past triumphs and future Olympic dreams.

NBC and streaming service Peacock will be NBCUniversal's primary platforms for its coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
