Paris 2024 Olympics, Australia’s skateboarding schedule: Arisa Trew, Keegan Palmer in action
Led by defending champion Keegan Palmer and the 14-year-old wonderkid Arisa Trew, a nine-member Australian skateboarding team will look to put on a strong show at the Paris 2024 Olympics starting on July 26.
The 21-year-old Palmer, who clinched gold at Tokyo 2020, will spearhead Australia's charge in the men's park event on August 7. He enters Paris 2024 in stellar form, having triumphed at the Budapest Olympic Qualifier Series (OQS) in June.
Joining Palmer in the men's park are Kieran Woolley, who narrowly missed the Olympic podium with a fifth-place finish in Tokyo, and Olympic debutant Keefer Wilson.
In the women’s park event slated for August 6, Arisa Trew will compete alongside 15-year-old compatriot Ruby Trew.
Arisa enters Paris 2024 fresh off her victories in both the Budapest and Shanghai OQS legs. Set to be just 14 years and 86 days when she starts her campaign in Paris, she will become the seventh-youngest Aussie Olympian in history and the youngest in 40 years.
Both Arisa and Ruby will make their Olympic debuts.
