Paris 2024 Olympics, Australia’s equestrian schedule: Shane Rose leads nine-member squad
A nine-member Australian equestrian team will compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics starting from July 27.
Shane Rose, making his fourth Olympic appearance, will be looking to add to his tally of three medals in eventing. He will compete in eventing alongside fellow Olympic medallists Chris Burton and Kevin McNab.
In jumping, veteran Edwina Tops-Alexander will be in the company of debutants Hilary Scott and Thaisa Erwin. This is Australia’s first-ever all-female jumping team to compete at the Olympics.
Tokyo 2020 Olympian Simone Pearce will spearhead the dressage team, in the company of Olympic debutants Jayden Brown and Will Matthew.

Andrew Hoy, one of Australia’s most decorated Olympians, is a three-time gold medallist and has made eight appearances at the Games. However, the 65-year-old was not picked for Paris 2024.
Australian equestrians will be competing in all six medal events in the sport at Paris 2024. Both individual and team medals will be offer in eventing, dressage and jumping.
Equestrian was introduced as an Olympic discipline at Paris 1900. Australia have won 14 Olympic medals - six gold, four silver and four bronze - since making its debut at the Melbourne 1956 Olympics.
Germany have been the most successful country in equestrian, winning 28 gold medals and 56 medals overall.
Australia finished on the podium for the first time in 1960 - where they won two golds and one silver. Lawrence Morgan and Neale Lavis won the gold and silver, respectively, in individual eventing. The duo, alongside Bill Roycroft, won the gold in the eventing team category as well.
The equestrian events at Paris 2024 will begin on July 26 at the Château de Versailles venue in Île-de-France.
