Paris 2024 Olympics BMX freestyle cycling, Australia schedule: Logan Martin, Natalya Diehm to compete
Reigning Olympic champion Logan Martin and Natalya Diehm, who finished fifth at Tokyo 2020, make up the two-member Australian BMX freestyle cycling team for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The two Australian cyclists will represent Australia in the men’s and the women’s park BMX freestyle events, respectively, and will be in action on July 31 at La Concorde.
BMX freestyle will make its second Olympic appearance at Paris 2024. A total of 12 riders per gender will compete in Paris, up from nine per gender at Tokyo 2020.
Logan Martin became the first men’s park Olympic champion in the BMX freestyle at Tokyo 2020.
The 30-year-old Logan, a silver medallist at the 2023 World Championship, missed out on a quota through the Olympic Qualifier Series held in Shanghai and Budapest but made it through based on previous results during the qualifying period.
Diehm, 26, finished the Olympic Qualifier Series sixth overall to secure her place at Paris 2024.
