Paris 2024: How to watch Erriyon Knighton live and full schedule
At just 20 years of age, Erriyon Knighton continues to catch the attention of many, including the greatest sprinter ever, Usain Bolt.
Knighton is back in his second Olympics at Paris 2024, after becoming the youngest American track and field athlete to qualify for the USA in Tokyo 2020, where he just missed out on a medal.
That same year, Knighton showed his potential when he broke the under-18 and under-20 world records held by Bolt in the 200m.
As he returns to the Olympic track, eight-time Olympic gold medallist Bolt believes the former American footballer is one of the stars to watch in the 200m, despite the presence of celebrated championship sprinters like Noah Lyles and Andre de Grasse.
“There is one kid who had my attention for a while. His name is Knighton, from the States. He ran 19.40-something. He's only just turning 20. So he was pretty good,” Bolt shared on a recent Obi One podcast.
Knighton qualified third for Paris behind Lyles and Kenny Bednarek at the U.S. Trials, then wrapped up his pre-Olympic tune-up with a 200m win at the Holloway Pro Classic in Florida.
The youngest-ever athlete to win a medal at the World Athletics Championship in an individual competition (bronze in the 200m in Eugene), was cleared to compete just days before the Olympic team selection trials.
